If you have a damaged or decayed tooth, our dentists can help you choose the best solution. Crowns and bridges are custom-fitted tooth prosthetics that function and look like natural, healthy teeth.

Crowns

A crown, otherwise known as a cap, is custom-fitted to your bite and is placed over your natural tooth or dental implant. We recommend this procedure for those who have an intact tooth without root rot. The tooth may be damaged or decayed on the surface.

Procedure:

  1. We will reduce the problematic tooth for a proper crown fit

  2. An impression will be taken of your bite for crown fabrication

  3. The color of porcelain prosthetics can then be customized

  4. We will fit you with a temporary crown until our lab makes your permanent one

  5. You will come in again for permanent crown fitting

Bridges

Dental Bridges are used to fill in gaps of missing teeth. The two teeth adjacent to the bridge are capped before the bridge is put in place. They involve suspending artificial replacements for missing teeth, provide an effective solution to tooth loss.

To replace missing teeth, we usually recommend dental implants for various benefits that implants provide. However, dental bridge is a great alternative for those who cannot undergo surgical procedures due to medical reasons. Bridges are a quick means of replacing missing teeth and result in a full set of teeth. They usually take around two dental visits for preparation and placement of the dental bridge. Dental implants take much longer for placement. From extraction to healing to implant placement, the process of getting a permanent crown would take very long compared to using a dental bridge. Implants are also more expensive. Dental bridges are less invasive than procedures like dental implants. However, if a patient has more than one tooth missing, it is better to opt for implants, as bridges require adjacent tooth to be of good health as well.
